Almost all draft picks are signed before camps now. It's been that way since the new CBA..... Only the Chargers have managed to fuck up in recent times. Our FO is the same - It's the game that changed.

Besides, his agent probably pushed to get a deal done (maybe even took less) before the Bengals learned that his shoulder injury would make him miss the first 4 games of the season.

No need to rush. The slotting system would favor the player at that point (in case of any injury or lingering injury).

Ross is gonna be special. Hopefully he can get and stay healthy. Given how often we've been teased by Tyler Eifert when he's been healthy, the skepticism is warranted. However, just like with Eifert, the talent is worth the risk. I'd take 8 games of Ross snapping DB's ankles and killing 1 on 1 coverage as it's 8 less games of Brandon LaFell's slow, can't get separation, mediocre ass.
