Really no need to play him in the big12 tournament either. Kansas will get a good seed, probably NR2 and that's just fine.

Back injuries can be ok in a few days or they can last for weeks.

That's a good call. When I read the Embid article, I was thinking the same thing.

Grant won't and shouldn't play tonight. Maybe a few minutes who knows.

Like douggie said back injuries are tricky.

I once had an aching back for 6 months. I was able to compete in USFA Fencing tournaments, but I wasn't at 100%. I was icing it for months with no positive effect except numbing it down. On a lark I iced the back of my thighs and in 15 minutes the back pain was gone.
After that I learned to touch my toes every day, never had that back pain again.

Embiid wants to get his NBA draft stock up. Stay sidelined too long and he could fall out of the top 5

that's all it took? Please elaborate. Touch your toes standing up? Sitting down? Leg's spread in a 45 degree angle? Hold it for 20 seconds? 5 minutes?

I have back pain from time to time so I'd love to hear how you got rid of yours

In my case, I had lower back pain due to overly tight hamstrings. I stand up, slowly bend forward and touch my toes. Don't be surprised if you can't do this at first. Just relax and go as far as you can without pain. When you feel pain back off until the pain is gone. I usually put my back and legas against a wall. It makes it easier to maintain balance.
When you have stretched as far as you can, without pain, rest there for 15-30 seconds. You should then be able to stretch even further. After a few minutes, I can even place the palms of my hands on the ground.

Don't maintain a painful stretch, you can damage your tendons. Good luck.

If your back pain, can't be lessened by touching your toes, you might want to check out Somatics by Thomas Hanna. It has more involved stretching positions and I've used them also. You can buy a used copy from Amazon for $8.

All I know is that if he goes back to Kansas as a projected top player, he is nuts. Just look at Smart and that white kid from Michigan. Didn't do squat for their NBA careers

I got arthritis and two herniated disks so I love and die by different therapies.

For immediate pain relief buy BioFreeze, immediate relief you can't get with anything except maybe narcotics.

For long term, as gay as it is, yoga, build your core and keeps you flexible.

Think I'd sit him for conf tournament too, if he's still iffy then. It may hurt his pick status, but I'm thinking it probably wont. These guys are drafted on potential, and he fits that bill.
