The Bengals hired him as a consultant yesterday. He was the o-line coach here for a long time and a coach around the league for 25 years.

Don't get me wrong - I think McNally is a hell of a coach, but I don't see this as good news. Jim McNall is precisely the reason why we didn't use high draft picks for linemen in the past. The organization assumed that because McNally had some success with polishing a few turds that he would be able to do it with everyone. I hope this doesn't mean that we're going to stick with what we got and just hope the unit performs better. We need some major upgrades.

He's not coaching the OL. He's working kind of as a scout/advanced scouts on game reports and schemes, if I read correctly.

Yes, he's a consultant - I'm just hoping the Bengals don't put too much stock in his ability to make drastic improvements.

Lock him in a room with John Cooper and let the magic unfold.

The moment McNally left coincided directly with the decline of our oline....Alexander was a poor replacement, and he's still here.....bringing McNally back as a "consultant" isn't going to help as long as Alexander remains the line coach.....
