Mullen followed the Schiano playbook.

33-39 in conf games
3-4 vs P5 OOC games
Only scheduled 2 regular season games vs P5 teams in his tenure. (lost both of them)

36-43 vs the good teams

33-3 vs the mid-majors and 1-AA's.

I was pretty underwhelmed by Jeremy Pruitt as UGA's D-coordinator.

I'm glad he went back home to Bama though. Zero complaints with Mel Tucker.

Agreed. He had his moments though. Very happy with Mel.

I seem to be a bit in the minority, I'm a believer he can be a good job. Though success against at MSU might be too much to ask

That performance against Florida in 2014 was unforgivable. Same 4 run plays over and over, Florida only passed like 8 times and we couldn't stop it, and that caused us to lose the East to a team we beat 34-0 in their house.

Ugh, don't remind me. We made Matt Jones and Kelvin Taylor look like Herschel and Bo. Ridiculous.

I do tend to think he did a good job in 2015, that defense was the only reason we were able to win 10 games that year. Even that year had it's negatives though.

When I was in high school I (and several others) got assigned in school suspension for going on the internet in computer class when we weren't supposed to. Jeremy Pruitt was the guy that looked after us troublemakers.

Part of the punishment was we had to bring our lunch from home and were not allowed to go to the lunchroom. Just had to eat at a desk facing a wall. At the time, I had a job at Outback Steakhouse so I of course brought in a steak for lunch. He had to allow us to use the microwave to heat our food but he didn't trust us because we were the computer kids and he thought we were hacking the microwave or something. We thought he was an idiot.

Now he's making 7 figs. I guess I now know who the real idiots were.

But at least I knew what asparagus was before I was 40 years old.

It's a specific skill set that doesn't exactly encourage well rounded individuals. It's not like he is teaching regression analysis to graduate business students.

That being said, asparagus? GTFO. Now, if he didn't know how they made white asparagus, I could give him a pass...that's oddball, but to not know what a fucking veggie is that you can get at any Piggly Wiggly...GTFO. Or maybe he meant the Hollandaise? Nah...I watched it...bitch didn't know what either was. :L.

Speaks perfectly to me, as I have never been to Mississippi....it is intentional too, I have no plans to ever visit Mississippi or even go through it

You are missing absolutely nothing.

You have to be really, really, really, really shitty to not go bowling in the SEC. you get 4 gimmies a year. All you have to do is win 2 conference games.

Want to compare the easiest 4 games on Auburn's schedule compared to Washington's?

I meant to say 6 games, because that's what it takes to get bowl eligible.

Most computers agree. Auburn's 6th easiest game was tougher than Washington's 6th easiest.

You are missing that despite playing an 8 game conference schedule as opposed to 9, Auburn's 6th easiest game (Missouri, #53) is tougher than Washington's (Utah, #60).

We won't bother to compare the tougher halves of the schedules because that's just embarrassing.

Missouri? The same Missouri that lost to two win Purdue by 32?

Yeah, ok buddy.

I agree. That's why Mullen would never schedule OOC games vs Power 5 teams. It would
be a loss.

Now...He did have two good years at MSU...one was probably great by their standards.
But that was it.

Mississippi has quality HS talent. Those folks can play up there. But they don't have a lot
of them. Just not that many people in the State. But what they have...can play. Many of
them get stolen from them. It's not like Tennessee wher two or three schools in the state
have all the talent and nobody else has anything. Tn HS football ain't great.

Mullen was a long tenured coach at MSU and people brag on that. However, his tenure
was due to the low expectations of the fan base. He wouldn't have been at Bama for 9
years with 46 losses.

You can survive at P5 bottom feeders, if you can get some talent...schedule poor teams
in your ooc games...and play conservative football.

He wants to run the single wing with variations and he does. Jacobs at Bowling Green,
Smith at Utah, Tebow at Florida, Prescott at MSU. Those are prototype single wing
tailbacks. His success at UF as an OC, came from the fact it was damn near impossible
to get UF off the field. 3rd and 4 was a gimmee for those folks with Tebow.

He had some success this year with that Fitzgerald kid. He just wasn't bulky enough
to get yards off-tackle. He's a good kid though.

I wrote this before but anybody can rent or buy the DVD, "Knute Rockne-All-American."
Released in 1940. They use many film clips in that movie. Most from the 1930's.
You will see Mullen's offense. (With the exception that he has split ends...those teams
didn't.) The Tebow jump pass. The Tebow left shoulder feint, where he would get the
snap take one step forward and lower his left shoulder and then straighten up and
throw it. Gary Danielson would pee his pants when he saw that play and praise how
innovative it was. Innovative??? You see that in those films clips in that movie 3 times.

All the UF fans I know and I know a great many of them. The vast majority of my HS
friends were/are Gates. They aren't really pleased with this hire. They all wanted Kelly.
Now Mullen will be better than Mac and Muschamp, but that will be about it. He can
get a good season every now and then, but their expectations are gonna be steeper
than MSU's.

Yeah, ok buddy.

Purdue won 6 games.

I don't think Mizzou's particularly good (but they did come on strong at the end of the year, even if it was a weak schedule), but they did rank ahead of Utah in S&P+. Utah was blown out by Oregon and ASU (who are ranked 79th in S&P+) and nearly lost to an awful BYU team.

2015 UGA might have been the most hollow 10 win season of any P5 team ever. 2011 UGA is the only one that comes close off the top of my head.

It was one of those years where GT was our only P5 OOC opponent, and that was the worst GT team of my lifetime.

We got curbstomped by Florida and Bama, and blew a big lead against Tennessee.

Everyone we played was horrible. We would have had the same record with lame ass Todd Grantham as DC.

I know that for a fact

It would be the last state in the US I would visit, I already visited New Jersey...I imagine Mississippi is like that but a little warmer, more fat people but less casinos
