5 year $304 million supermax extension
Celtics what are you doing!??!?!

Well if they didn't want to trade him or couldn't trade him for the value they think is fair...it was a move they had to make. The contract is horrible for the Celtics and the future. Brown and Tatum better be form into a version of DWade and Lebron
Insane money.
Brown is slated to making $52.3 million when the contract first kicks in during the 2024-25 season and $69.1 million in 2028-29, the final year of the deal. He is not eligible for a no-trade clause because he signed an extension.
He's the first one to hit that level, but there will be many more to follow. He just had the timing to hit that level first.
I totally get that as that is the way sports contracts are going but I just don't see him being worth that much
Yeah, understood and I agree. When he made an all-NBA team last year, that triggered eligibility for a bigger max and this is the result.
They haven't been so far so I highly doubt they will be. Hate this move. Really hope I eat my words but I doubt I will
That contract will be practically untradeable anywayBrown is slated to making $52.3 million when the contract first kicks in during the 2024-25 season and $69.1 million in 2028-29, the final year of the deal. He is not eligible for a no-trade clause because he signed an extension.
It is going to be a bad contract for sure.
Just not sure what the Celtics alternative would be for making their team better?
Brown’s trade value was diminished because any team dealing for him would be looking at handing him a max contract after giving up assets to get him.
Just the cost of doing business in the NBA unfortunately.
