Just heard a good Kobe story on Dan Partrick.

I guess after Kobe's 81 point game he went out to dinner with Jalen Rose who was on the Raptors.

Kobe orders a martini and asks for 81 olives. lol

Yep. Dan Patrick told the story to Chris Webber and asked him if he'd heard it before.

Webber says "No, but that's cold. He probably had them bring them all with little toothpicks in them too."

DP says "And he's probably sitting there eating them going "58, 59, 60..."

Another Kobe story. This one from Reggie Miller.

Apparently, Kobe asked Reggie to teach him how to shoot the step back 3 that was a staple of Reggie's game.

So, Reggie says "Sure, no problem. But I want you to teach me your crossover." Kobe says "No problem."

So, Reggie teaches him the whole thing...how to set it up, how to watch the defenders feet so he knows when to step back and shoot.

Then, when it was Kobe's turn to teach him his crossover...Kobe didn't know what he was talking about.

Reggie says "So, it's about 2 years later, we're playing the Lakers in the finals and Kobe is using my own signature move against me...and I can't use his crossover because he never taught it to me." lol

I love some of D Wade's stories talking about Kobes work ethic. Was talking about the Redeem team. Said they had the long ass flight across country, first thing they did was get in a team workout right when they landed. When they we're done, some of they guys said: "when the first person wakes up, call everyone and let's get some breakfast together." So 3 hours later someone gets up, calls everyone and they met downstairs for breakfast. Wade said the first they saw was Kobe icing his knees. And they all asked: "What's up man?" He said: "Just got in another workout, getting ready for another." Wade said that's when he realized about how other worldly Kobes work out regime was and inspired him to a whole other level.

The other night I was watching some vids of him passing and the roughest (other than his wife of course) had to be a tossup between West and Shaq.

You could tell both were really in a "shook moment" as Miller put it.....Shaq as the big brother and West as the surrogate dad.
