It makes things very difficult for defenders when offensive players are allowed to palm the ball and travel to the extremes that they get away with these days. Add to that the no hand checking and the restricted circle under the hoop, things are even more difficult for defenders.

I often find myself defending the sometimes unfair reputation the NBA has when it comes to travelling...

these 2 examples cannot, however, be defended.

Wade definitely traveled, but players allowed to take a few steps as they're catching the ball. Basically getting set up for whatever the player decides to do with the rock.

Sometimes it happens so fast that it's hard to judge (plus ref's looking for a possible foul when said player is going to the hoop) but ultimately agree with you on those type of moves.

I agree it does happen quick. That one didn't seem that hard to pick up though. He covered a lot of ground. I do find it frustrating when the announcers gush endlessly over these move when they must realize that it's a clear travel.
