Marijuana related fatal accidents have increased in both states, you are lying to yourself.

Really? I'm not disagreeing w/ you because I have no idea but I live in Boulder & haven't heard that one. And are you sure it's just marijuana & nothing else mixed in, like alcohol?

Marijuana related fatal accidents have increased in both states, you are lying to yourself.

There is some manipulation of stats going on there.

According to Colorado DOT, it did rise in 2014 from 2012 by 44%. But it also dropped 38% from 2011 to 2012. So there is an increase, but not as dramatic as those studies suggest because they're not considering the history of the stats before the drop of 2012.

It also ignores that rec marijuana wasn't legal until Jan 1 2014. But yet, there was the same increase from 12 to 13 as there was from 13 to 14.

My point was all those other things I mentioned are much worse & are responsible for many deaths each year. Guess how many marijuana-only deaths happen each year. Zero.
I'm not a smoker but how many fatal cigarette accidents are there vs. Marijuana?
All of your BUT arguments won't change my mind, in fact I'd be more willing to give up my alcohol if the Government said so.

Is legalization perfect? No.

But any negatives brought by it don't hold a candle to the negatives around having it be illegal, from over-prescription of opioids, to black market crime.

In each of the states that have legalized, including DC, they have experienced substantial drops in drug related violent crime and cartel activity.

Look at the medical advantages the weed provides. I won't list them but they are plenty.
What are the medical advantages of pork, coffee, sugar, red meat, starches, ect. They do help fill your belly.
Ask a cancer patient that uses and see if they feel better and have an appetite as the nausea has been reduced.
Do not form your opinion from this movie...

That didn't work out so well the last time they tried.

Why only single out cigarettes when I also mentioned hard drugs & prescription pills? That's odd. And I'm not trying to change your mind on this topic. I just don't think marijuana is as bad as those other things I mentioned. As a matter of fact there are stats to back up what I said. Which was more people die each year from cigarettes, alcohol & prescription pills than marijuana.

That article doesn't contradict anything I said, though it does however contradict the CDOT's report. And those stats are from 07 to 12, well before legalization.

And as the guy in your link states, positive marijuana traces hardly mean that the person was impaired at the time of the accident. It's not alcohol.

Legalization isn't perfect. But your head is securely in the sand if you believe that prohibition is any better in regards to public safety.

Because you said cigarettes are responsible for more deaths, my counter argument is cigarettes kill the user, while pot heads kill others.
And as far as I'm concerned the whole argument that it's nor as bad as others us a weak argument. If it's legalized fine, I'll accept it, however if it's state legal but the Gov says the military can't smoke, then they can't smoke, same with police departments.

Totally agree with the last part. If you chose a path for your life that doesn't allow it, then you have nobody to blame if you allow it get in your way.

More people die each year from alcohol. More people die each year from hard drugs. More people die each year from prescription pills. Do you wanna say those facts are false? And post some actual info stating that potheads kill more people per year than everything I have mentioned. I'm willing to bet you can't find any valid info backing up your comment.

Someone with a .05 bac is more likely to be involved in a fatal accident than someone with a .00 bac.

Not trying to troll, but ok?

Maybe you need to step away from the sports and take a look at what is going on in the world for once.
and then talk about it in a Football thread:noidea:

Isn't this how we got onto the subject. I said I was done with McClain, someone suggested it might be the herb. The herb is banned in the NFL.

Can you find one place where I or anyone else suggested Marijuana kills more than alcohol or hard drugs. No, I countered that Marijuana has killed more in fatal accidents than cigarettes.
