Is joining a conference the same thing as socialism?

So your idea of a "tiny bit" of socialism is sharing all the TV money AND the bowl money, AND mandating a set number of games against other teams in the conference. I'd be interested in what you would consider a "moderate amount" of socialism to be.

If you are in socialism you don't have a choice. Schools can leave a conference and join another if they wish as many have done lately or choose to go independent such as BYU or ND. Schools choose to align themselves with other schools usually so they create rivals and common opponents and as a group get money which they share. They are mandated so many games against conference opponents because how else do you crown a conference champ. Thats why most teams play for a conference championship then a bowl win. They still control the money from their attendance , parking and consessions. They still hammer out their own deals with Nike or Addidas or Under Armor. They still pay their coaches what they want. So where's your socialism? Back in the day their were no huge TV deals like there are now so thats where the money is and many teams joined other schools for bigger money. . If one school feels it can go it alone they can do what Texas did and have their own network. No one stopped them because they had the pull. Against if it was socialism they couldn't do that.
