He was easily the best cf'er for a very long time.

no he wasnt

griffey >>>> edmonds by approximately 33.8 miles

No, he wasn't. Edmonds won 6 of 8 GG's in the 2000's. How many did Griffey win from 2000 on? ZERO.

Just the facts.

so you're telling me...

that youd take edmonds OVER griffey in that era?

is that what im reading?

PS gold gloves mean nothing, ask raffy palmeiro.

Would I take Edmonds over Griffey from 2000 on? Yes. Anyone would. Griffey hardly ever played.

Now you're just being silly. You said he was never considered the best at anything. Jim Edmonds is considered one of the best defensive cf'ers of ALL TIME, actually. He was certainly the best cf'er of the 2000's. Easily. This is not up for debate at all.

your thread title and poll doesnt say "2000 on".

its misleading to go this route

griffey came up in 89 as a teen
edmonds in 93 as a 23 year old

their careers mostly overlapped...and you'd take edmonds over griffey (drop the 2000 on crap, its an argument you suffixed in)

1995-2008, both players (i did 95 as it was edmonds first year as a full time guy)

edmonds - (includes edmonds lost season off 99) .916 OPS, 377 HR 1135 RBI
griffey - (includes his lost year of 95 to keep things even timeline wise) .919 OPS, 439 HR 1229 RBI

high finish in MVP over that time

edmonds

received votes 6 times, high was 4 (never top 10 outside that season)

receieved votes 10 times won once...finished top 5, four more times

It's not my poll or thread, genius. Drink another coffee.

You said Edmonds was never considered great at anything. That is asinine. He's one of the best CF'ers of all time.

I also voted "NO" to this person's poll question btw. While Edmonds was a great CF'er, he simply didn't hit enough....especially during the roid era.

But the point was that "at no point in his career was he considered the best", he was considered the best from circa 2000-2004/5 before Beltran took the crown.
i meant offensively (my fault for not saying that)

4-5 years of stellar defensive play doeasnt make one a HOFer

it needs to be sustained

2000 on, its easy

overall careers?

youd have to be forced to wea r ahlemt full time to choose edmonds
