Regardless of teams played, long winning streaks are hard. Alabama has reached 28 wins in a row twice with a few other streaks in the 20s. It just takes one bad day or one great team to spoil the streak.

What OU did under Bud is amazing, and what Clemson is doing now is approaching amazing. If they win out this year vs. Virginia and two CFB Playoff Wins, I will be super impressed.

lol, not really. During OU's streak, the only other big 7 team that finished the season ranked was 1956 Colorado. Nebraska and Texas sucked during this time period. During OU's 47 win streak, they only had six wins against teams that finished the year ranked.

I would like to point out that this is what happens to teams that play Oklahoma.

They get fucked up so bad, they can't field a team the rest of the year.

Teams play a lot more games per year now too if they make the playoff. Easier to win 45 in a row over 3 years than it is to do in almost 4 full years. That way you only need one or two truly phenomenal classes instead of 3

I don't that it is easier because now you have to win at least 2 games against the Top 4 teams in the country each year.

Clemson won't finish this season undefeated. So what's there to worry about? Wilkinson also had a 31 game winning streak with 1 National Championship to go with his 47 game winning streak and 2 National Championships. And Barry Switzer had a 28 game winning streak with 2 National Championship mixed in with it.
