If the Broncos lose Brock Osweiler, will they trade for Colin Kaepernick?

I think Elway suiting up and playing again is also on the table. I know there have been player/coaches in the past, has there ever been a player/GM?

How can that be smart for a guy on the open market?

Peter King suggested the Broncos try to work a trade for AJ McCarron. That would be a decent option as well.

People just see the title QB before the person's name and say "here take all my money"

Shows how much Denver really wanted him to keep trying to sign him even though he wasn't happy there.

Either that or they were driving his price up, knowing he'd land somewhere else?

Doubt that. They would have gone straight into the option 2 I think instead of keeping messing with his agent, and it doesn't sound worth the risk to get another team to spend a couple mil more a year for him that has piles of cap room anyways.

If Hou didn't bite, he'd accept their offer. They only offered that because they wanted to pay him that.

Craperdick to the Broncos is very likely now. His agent is jerking it furiously right now after the Os to Houston signing.

Talk about a lucky guy if that happens. From being benched for Gabbert on a team falling apart, to a 15 mil contract with 8 mil in potential bonuses on the defending SB champ.

FA has a lot to do with timing and desperation from teams. Many times these big FA contracts end up disasters, but that's the NFL for many teams looking to make splashes or desperate for help.

The Broncos are 5 alarm desperate right now for a QB and drafting 32nd in the 1st, but if they can sign Craperdick to a sensible prove it contract, it could be the bridge their looking for till a better QB op comes along in 2017/18. Either way, Broncos fans got hit by the reality bus today. Enjoy that SB feeling till Sept. You still got some nice key pieces there to build around.

That being said, the Broncos aren't going back to the SB next year after the FA gutting they had, but that's happened to plenty of other SB teams who had a bunch of contracts coming up.

Yep, that is like WOW territory. From 25 or whatever to 70 is a huge gap. BO's agent must be a genius.

Jimmy Sexton, he is really good, reps a lot of college coaches as well.
