Then they should be ineligible for the SEC championship game.

actually as I explained in the thread last week...they would be left out.

bama, if they lose to LSU would finish 6-1
LSU would finish 5-1 and bama would be in the SEC championship game by default.

if bama loses to a 2 loss team in the SEC championship game...then HELL breaks loose.

I don't think the game will really have any implications on the SEC West race, but it could have and major effect in the SEC East.

If Tennessee loses to Bama, that gives Florida control of the East without having to play their cross division rival.

I don't think you can hold teams out, but maybe the conference should put their foot down and force the two teams to reach an agreement.

If Tennessee loses to Bama, Florida is back in the driver's seat without having to play LSU and losing big to Tennessee earlier in the season.

LSU might be all but done, but this could be really beneficial for Florida.

Really if Tennessee loses to Bama, then Georgia beating Florida would be their only hope, and while not impossible, given recent history, relying on Georgia beating Florida probably won't get you far.

But, we did break our losing streak in Columbia, SC, so maybe coach Smart can turn things back around in the Florida rivalry.

If there is a 3 way tie in either division, it could really mess things up. A&M beats Bama, Ole Miss beats A&M for example.

The tiebreakers are based on won/loss records of opponents. What do they do with the no game?

Also, bowls go according to standings within the conference and the division. Does 6-1 finish ahead of 6-2? 5-2 ahead of 5-3? Who gets the bowl slot? What do the polls do with ranking a team with less games?

They need to play the game. Somewhere down the line it will mess up something if they don't.

Won't happen. The SEC would lose all credibility.

This is a no win situation. No one wants to give up a home game and no one wants to switch dates. If I were LSU, I wouldn't budge either. Why screw your selves over when you're not at fault. I'm sure they'll figure something out because there is money to be made.. but I'm sure we won't be happy with whatever they come up with.

Not fair to LSU to have to play gators on November 19:
Loss of home game revenue ; 5M, buyout S Bamy -1.5M, not to mention hotels, restaurants others loss of big business, travelling team fans plans already made well in advance. Something needs to be worked out, LSU tried, SEC and gators really fucked this up

Quite the contrary, LSU should be awarded the SEC championship game as a form of reparations for losing a regular season SEC game. That way we get 8 games, too.

Wait these teams would have made it to the SEC Championship even with playing the game?
