I just about made a new thread about why I am certain we will finally break the 4-loss spell this season, and the main reason is Tommy........but then I thought better of it.

Seriously though, between the leadership and decision making of Tommy and Ameer, I am starting to see the possibility of a really good season.

We need exactly what we have. I am seriously falling in love with this kid. I'm trying not to, but he is making way too much progress too quickly.

I love how much Tommy wants to win.

He gets into it. He's always out there trying to pump up the crowd and the team. It's addictive.

You guys end up eating outside the stadium then, RA?

haha

Both.

I got a cheesesteak outside the stadium and then a runza inside.

The kids had Valentino's inside the stadium and funnel cakes outside during halftime.

We were hoping to find smoked turkey legs to bring home but didn't see any on the west side.

The 1994 national title trophy wasn't in the case because they were having the 20 year reunion so they must have had it at all their events. The 1994 team also carried the crystal ball out onto the field during the tunnel walk.

So basically I got pics of my daughter standing in front of the NC trophy case with just 4 NC trophies.

I already had pics of my boy with all 5.

We always walk in and see all the trophies every game too. Even though I used to walk in through that door every day to go to work and saw them all every single day :L

I still can't get enough of it. Seeing the Orange Bowl trophies brings back so many memories of when I was little. They always remind me of Derek Brown for some reason. I remember him doing an interview the night before FSU kicked our asses and they had the trophy sitting next to him.

Armstrong is 11-1 as a starter.

His lone loss was to Michigan St. How bad do you think he wants that game back?

Pierson El didn't even go to the huddle. Team was already lined up, Pierson El came off the sideline, went straight to Westerkamp's left slot, and Westerkamp ran off the field.

Duh.

Like I said, Miami saw right through it.
that play was just way too slow to develop. We gave it to ameer who ran towards the sideline and then he pitched it to Pierson El who had to run all the way back across the field. There was way too much time for the Defense to react to it.

If I could get in Beck's ear for one second, here's what I'd say about that play. Let Ameer have it as an option. I think Ameer could have gained 5-10 yards on that play, but instead he pitched it and we lost yardage. If Ameer sees the defense react to the WR going for the reverse, he just keeps it and gets as much as he can.

We did get a performance from the OL that proved my point. They dominated and did an effective jobe of physically beating on Miami's defense. And yes we finally did see enough from TA in passing to also help keep the defense honest.

Just hope there isn't too be of an emotional letdown for the Illini.

If he would have faked the reverse hand off he would have been all alone to the endzone.

Of course I like my Big Fred's, Mama's, Sorentino's, etc, but I like all pizza. I'll even eat a $1 boxed Totinos and not complain.

The reason I asked is when you're at the stadium you see a lot more than you see on tv. It was obvious Pierson El came onto the field to be an integral part of a play. It wasn't masked at all. They didn't sneak him in. It was "Hi. You know that other receiver that was just standing here and ran off the field to be replaced by me? I wonder why that is?".

All things considered with NU's QB situation the past 3 years. If KB stays healthy this season he'll break Johnny Rodgers career receiving yards record at Nebraska.

Unless Nebraska's putting up 80's and 90's type rushing numbers I think that record's a given. Maybe a couple more.

Like the early 70's teams, Beck wants balance so it makes sense that KB would be pushing Johnny's records.

Bell just tied Rodgers for most Career Receptions.
