I wonder if a season ending injury could keep a team from the title game?

I'm not hoping for this for Bama to get in or anything, so don't think that. I was just thinking about what if something like this happened, would it effect the voting by much...


Say Kansas st. is #1, but Colin Klein breaks his leg against Texas, and they still win the game. So Klein would be out for the year, so no bowl game. Would they drop KSU out of the top 2 even while being undefeated? Or let them play the title game with a back up QB?

I used KSU as the example because they seem to be the only team that really depends heavily on that one guy.

There is no way Kansas State or Oregon would be left out of the title game because of an injury. Voters wouldn't put an undeserving team in the title game because a deserving team had a player get hurt. Computers aren't going to remove a team because a player is hurt. But if three teams were all equally deserving and the computers had them ranked about the same, then in that case i could imagine voters putting the team with an injured player third.
