I am not really happy with the Grayson pick. Petty now ends up going to the wrong team and fanbase who will not respect his beliefs and a team where he's gonna feel the pressure of playing on a top defense. Petty is not Wilson. He's a pocket passer, this is a totally wrong fit for him. Petty fit the saints because of what the saints and their organization has stood for. And God help him if he went to the browns, that would have been a terrible place to play with Manziel holding that team hostage.

well, I agree Petty would have been better off in New Orleans than New York. He would have fit into Payton's offensive philosophy, I do believe.

Didnt see much of the CSU guy, so cant comment on him, other than many of the pundits liked him.

I would say Grayson probably reminds Payton a lot of Brees. They both are highly accurate, run a very pro style system, not the biggest guys but enough physical ability to escape when needed, and most of all very intelligent and will fight to the end. I would say Grayson is the safer pick between him and Petty. Teams just don't think Petty will ever reach a point of understanding an NFL offense. He has the better arm and obviously the better running ability but his football knowledge is limited. It was enough to do well in Baylor but the NFL is a whole different beast.

I wanted the 49ers to get him too. :(

He was the best QB in the draft IMO.

I'm a fan of Grayson. I think he has a lot of potential and will be a decent NFL QB if placed in the right system. Pick # 75 was about right because I felt other teams would've taken a flyer on him. I like this pick for NO.

Seriously, neither QB is all that good. This was a very weak draft class for QBs. Even the top 2 guys have serious questions about them.

By him you mean Grayson or Petty?

Petty, but I admittedly didn't see very much of Grayson; so I may have overlooked him.

I liked Sean Mannion too, and he's probably better than Petty right now (he's really accurate); but I like Petty the best long term.

But flushing one turd only to fill the bowl back up with another turd, gets you nowhere.

One is a guaranteed turd; the other one just probably has a 65% chance of being a turd. I'll take door #2.

Then you end up like the Cardinals between post-Warner & pre-Palmer. A giant turn rotation.

Or you could end up like the Seahawks, who were replacing QBs at a high rate for a while, but eventually they found their guy.

Seahawks have a long history of crappy QBs. Usually you need to be picking at the top of the draft or once in a blue moon a good QB gets pick later because they're to short or what ever. Even picking at the top of the draft may not help if a year there just isn't any decent QBs in the draft. Hardest thing to find is a franchise QB.

I was upset with them not taking Petty as well....I don't know much about Grayson, but I'm sure Peyton(along with him watching Brees) will get him right

I think you'll be pleasantly surprised with Grayson when his time comes.

Saints looking like a solid ground team this year!
