While it does happen for most SB losers, the NFC West hasn't been known for a cameo season. Teams tend to have two or three strong years before slowing down. Further, SF's division is becoming the strongest in football again. That does not trend toward a hangover. They also improved their offensive line. If there is a weakness, however, it has to be the unproven Mostert. If teams focus on stopping their run game then Jimmy Garoppolo is forced to have to beat them. But with that defense, it's going to be hard to see a regression in the run game and short-field opportunities.

And who's going to beat them. Seattle didn't do anyone any favors this offseason and the pressure is going to be on good old Pete. Can I honestly believe Arizona has done enough to be on SF's level? And don't get me started on LA. And it doesn't hurt with the cupcake schedule outside of the division.

I think Garpolio will remain the Niners starter after a SB loss longer than Colin Sackorpick did.
