If Garappola was worth a second round, I guess the sky is the limit for AJ McCarron now? What in the world will AJ. McCarron be worth now?

Toss in a H-J from his wife and you could possibly get a GM to contemplate giving up a 7th round pick for him...

Looks like the browns were going to give up a #2 and a #3, considering AJ was a #5, not bad. Better than what the Patsies got for Jimmy G!

Anywhoo, AJ. McCarron is good for a solid number 2 and then some, better than Jimmy G! As has been proven! Don't blame me for the Browns front office fiasco!

The Bengals actually came out ahead than the Pats in my opinion. The duo of Lewis and Brown actually showed that they are more shrewd than Billicheck. He came out with only a #2 and lost out on Jimmy G. .............The Bengals, on the other hand proved the actual worth of AJ. McCarron while retaining his services should Dalton go down. A win-win in my books. You have your backup Qb, that would be a franchise QB on most teams, and showed what it will take to get him, which is at least a #2 AND a #3. Which if you do the math and subtract the 2 from the 3 (3-2 =1), means you would consider trading him in the future(right before the draft?) for a #1. This establishes the base asking price for McCarron, either a 2 and a 3, or a #1.

Too bad for you that the Bengals can't play teams like the Browns, Colts & 49ers all of the time. If that were the case then perhaps Dalton & McCarron would be franchise QBs. In reality it is one mediocre QB backing up another mediocre QB.

Your starter's talent level is somewhere between a #1 QB and a backup. He is definitely not a franchise QB. He is ok. So why would anyone but the Browns give that much for AJ McCarron? I agree, if his wife came along with a BJ, and maybe a monthly roll in the hay, yes, he would be worth more.

Any GM who gives up a 1st for McCarron should be fired on the spot.

This is also assuming everyone values McCarron as a 2nd and 3rd, when it reality it could've been 30 other teams seeing that asking price and going "you got this one, Cleveland."

Actually I think somebody wised up at the last minute and said..."ya know, a 2 AND a 3? This just doesn't feel right".

On second thought....

When was it proven?
McCarron might be a good starter, but at least one team (the Bengals) thinks he is not as good as Andy Dalton. So that leaves his skills somewhere less than Daltons.

Mccarron was proven to be worth "a solid #2 and then some" because that is what the Browns agreed to give up in exchange for him. The price has now been set.

Really? YOu use what the Browns did not trade for him as the bar. Makes no sense for a couple reasons. The Browns do stupid shit all the time. They thought Manziel was worth a 1st round pick.
Also, the Browns did not make the deal happen.

In reality, McCarren is worth a 3rd or a 4th in todays climate.

The Bengals think he is not as good as Andy Dalton. So that leaves his skills somewhere less than Daltons.

Meh...

The Browns will still give up a second and third round pick for McCarron before the draft, then draft a QB with their first rounder and bomb again on both attempts - further solidifying their annual bid for 0-16 for at least another five years.

...And I'm cool with that. Every league needs their punchline franchise and the Lions have forfeited their stranglehold on that status.
