Howard to the Wizards

Marcin Gortat was shipped out because of chemistry concerns (plus the fact that he kind of sucks) and the Wizards replace him with Dwight Howard. LOL.

Talent wise, the Wizards are right there with anybody in the East outside of Boston and Philly. They should be marginally better this year than they were last, but I doubt this group can play up to full potential. Hopefully I am wrong.

Howard is most defintely better than Gortat.

Remember, Gortat started his career as Howard's back up. And it isn't like Gortat is a young up and comer. He is declining also.

Howard is such as sad story to have everything in Orlando in the palm of your hand and worshipped like a god to being a joke getting bounced around from team to team. looking at this track record you can look at this and say this will not work, it didnt work in LA, it didnt work in Houston, it didnt work in Atlanta, it didnt work in Charlotte and Brooklyn literally paid him to leave. This wont work for Washington

He's way better defensively and as a rebounder.

Problem is, While Howard is better I actually think they play similar style games.

Anyone is better than Gortat @ this stage. I have never seen a 7 footer miss more layups than Gortat. He is useless @ this stage of his career. If Howard doesn't pan out - big deal. He is cheap & only on a 1 year contract & it is not as if the Wizards are challenging for the title.

Also - if this turns out to be a really bad move then this will just expedite the firing of Grunfeld which is a great thing. This is a win win move.

I think the top 5 in the east is, solidly

1. Boston
2. Philly (unless they get Leonard)
3. Milwaukee
4. Toronto
5. Indiana

after that i think there is another tier with:

6. Wizards
7. Heat
8. Pistons
9. Cavs
10. Knicks
11. Bulls

and i hope the Cavs go DOWN this list by trading Love and Korver and maybe moving Hill and Smith to take on some bad money for assets. Maybe even trade Hood once they are allowed to trade him since i think he will get a pretty team friendly K.

The "bad" teams in the East are the Hawks, Magic, Nets, Knicks, Bulls, Hornets and Cavs.

I just hope the Cavs dont try and get a 7 or 8 seed





As for the Wiz- this is just such an unlikeable group of guys with an unlikeable coach.

I think the Bucks, Raptors and Pacers are a notch ahead of the Wizards.

The Wiz are not a team that should have any business getting a home court series if you ask me. I expect them to be the 7th seed and go out in the first round.

Yeah, I was leery of that one from the beginning because of his injury - I think if the going price would have been 1.5 million up to 3.0, then absolutely for the portion from February to June - but that Feb mark could easily end up being March or the end of the season and the Lakers simply don't have that luxary. Cousins is a gamble that the Warriors are hoping to pay off in the finals - perhaps it works and perhaps not
