I think natural gas? I don't know. I'm sorta stupid. I had a gas line run from my house. Same gas that the furnace runs on - I thought it was natural gas, if it's not, please berate me so that I learn my lesson.

Running out of propane mid-cook is fucking horrible. That why I got a second tank as a backup. Then I was lazy and didn't refill the primary tank when using the backup and when the backup ran out, I got a third tank as a backup to the backup. I never ran out after that, but I'll tell you, if you can convert your grill to gas from the house (natural or otherwise), that's the way to go.

Too often, I fixed that problem with this new home...I ran a gas line outside and bought a natural gas conversion kit for my grill...summer project is building an outdoor kitchen with 2 grills, a charcoal and gas.

Smart move...I did the same thing...natural gas...the conversion kits costs about $45 for my grill.

That's baller.
I'll post some pics as it goes...the main patio is getting a roof 1st, and I goofed with the framer and need to add another 1 freakin yd of concrete.

I wanted to make the grillin pad bigger anyway so we'll make it 3 yds...bad job by the concrete guy needing a second pour...me!

Sounds about right. I have 2 tanks at my place in Florida just in case. Fuckin tenants killed both of them and I didn't realize until I was about to grill and already had a few in me so I was fucked. THis time I left one of the small ones for the portable gas grills hidden so I have an emergency stash. Coleman makes them and they're good for a use or 2

I'm usually good for about 3 months. It will be less this time because the one I picked up at the exchanged felt lighter so I know its not fully full despite the sellers assurance.

It really does suck to run out mid grilling. I am not sure where I would keep another tank so I just have one.

3 weeks to a month for me with a 5 burner on near daily cooking(sometimes twice a day), and also some slow cooking with only 1 burner on for many hours mixed in.

Having 2 tanks is a must as you've figured out.

If you have propane for your house appliances, you can always run a line to your grill from it. Or go natural gas. My dad is in that business, I've converted many grills and ran many gas lines to grills.

You can just drill the piece out to make the hole bigger.
