By the way, does anyone think that Tomlin bears at least a little responsibility in any of this? I mean they were down 2 TD's with under a minute to play and no timeouts, and they were around their own 10 or 15 yard line, and he's still trying to have Rudolph drop back and air it out? That seemed silly to me last night even before the melee broke out. I kept saying why don't they just take the knee and end this boring game? And as a result of Tomlin deciding to keep going for it he ended up getting Rudolph sacked (hard) twice on back to back plays, and nearly a third time when Garrett hit him late. If Tomlin just takes a knee on any of those last 3 snaps none of the fighting would ever have happened. So does anyone agree with me that Tomlin should have just conceded the game, took the knees and went to the dressing room?
Made a comment on that last night. He comes across as "bush league" talking like that.
Same could be said for Kitchens. They game was over and not need to have your star defenders out there. Really both coaches are equal on this one but yeah really silly.
The the complete utter nonsense from the refs to have them continue to play with 8 seconds left.
I guess we will have to disagree.I agree, and I don't agree. Maybe Kitchens shouldn't have had his starters out there, but when it is obvious the other team is going to continue to score on you even though it's a lost cause I can understand Kitchens not wanting to let that happen. If the Steelers just took the knee then there'd have been no reason for Kitchens to try and break up the play anymore. I'd say 85% Tomlin and 15% Kitchens for blame.
It depends on how they view his overraction...as you said technically he was the instigator.

Kitchens is coaching a very undisciplined team and deserves some of the blame.

Absolutely not.
Ya, but guys instigate shit all game long. Grabbing a facemask, or giving a shove is pretty normal. But swinging a helmet at a player's head who no longer has a helmet on is taking a leap beyond football and may even creep into the criminal law area. None the less, being an instigator has never got anyone suspended and I doubt it will here either. Rudolph couldn't have known, or expected how badly Garrett would over react just because they were roughing it up a bit.
I guess we will have to disagree.
If you are going to blame the offensive coach for still trying to play then the same is said for the defensive coach.
With a pea for a brain.
Devlin "Duck" HodgesCertainly does. He probably will get a huge reality check in regards to his comments. Who is the Steelers back up to him? He might be starting next week
