I'm not starting shit, i'm sorry I don't wanna hold hands and sing kumbaya, this is a forum that allows people to have differing opinions. I'm sure I won't see you post an opinion that goes against the OP in the future...
I appreciate people loving soccer, you have to be in good shape to play, it requires skill but seriously I just don't for the life of me understand how people get excited about watching it on TV.
I used to be like this, watching it a little more it is much more enjoyable. Having a rooting interest helps. Going to live games are awesome, especially when the beer is Mexican
In Dallas the ratings have not been great. Soccer is a huge participation sport in this area, but apparently that doesn't translate to viewing the World Cup.
A lot of support for Mexico of course.
The hype is really great in my house. I converted my wife. She actually started to appreciate the game. She asked the obvious question about "why not keep a guy down by the other teams goalie?" I explained the off side rule to her and she understood that the game would be a farce without that rule.
As football injuries increase and the cost for insurance skyrockets for schools along with the cost of equipment....soccer is getting the love at middle and high school around the area.
For me personally it's boring as hell, but soccer for the US is gaining ground.
