Well they signed like 30 something kids this year, so it's not like they can't bring kids in. Just have a hard time keeping them there, ie trouble, transfer, etc...

Probably because this are some of the darkest days in the programs history. I think they are startign to right the ship. 30+ sized recruiting classes may speed it up, but I still think they are couple years away. Only 10 starters back. Going to be hard to make a lot of noise when half your starters dont even shave.

Basically, what 4d20 said. Fulmer got fired and they hired Kiffin, who got them a couple of good recruiting classes, a winning record and a bowl game which raised expectations considerably.


When they interviewed him, Kiffin told them the only job he would leave for was USC. USC came calling the next season, he left and several of the kids he recruited left with him. Tennessee's campus practically rioted which wasn't a good look for the next coach, particularly in terms of recruiting.


Then they hired Dooley who wasn't up to the task. Now they have a guy who seems to know what he's doing and appears ready to get them turned around.
