That pitching is pretty rough. I'd aim for gains in WHIP/ERA (they'd be easiest imo). Haren/Rodney/Estrada wouldn't fit into that plan though. I'd replace with high K relievers and then I'd stream starters to go with the few SP you have.
You've got enough bench bats that you can drop some and add a few arms. I like Prado, he might even replace Phillips for me, but both are lower end 2B (I'd try really hard to move one..)...Napoli and Lawrie I'd let go of. Castro I'm not sure I'd drop just yet, but would move him for sure if I could.
It's really tough when you get on auto-draft; the good news is you have a good offense. I'd be somewhat relieved as it could have been worse: you only have to worry about your staff. (and you have an ace and a stud closer to start with)
You'll be just fine.

Not a bad team at all... I do have suggestions:
You have to start Rizzo over Castro and Jennings over Gordon...

Trade Gordon and Choo For another ligitimate pitcher... Choo is a little over-rated in non OBP formats...

Then add another OF...
Might want to trade Napoli for Chris carter straight up...

Yeah I did better on offense than I initially thought (as you pointed out) yet my pitching could use an upgrade but I think it would have to be through a trade since we have soooo many players per team.

Also, if castro does have any type of bounce back, you might want to package him with phillips to get an elite 2B...

I've seen worse teams drafted by experts. I like your hitting but would start Prado and Jennings for Phillips and Castro. Use some bench hitting to add another SP or two if you can. I think you have enough to work with. If you move Choo, you better get good SP value in return.

yeah I was going to go with Rizzo. You think Jennings will have a better year than Gordon?

I think Jennnings is better with fantasy categories with the potential 20-20... Gordon is the better player though... Thats why i would trade him with choo for a pitcher... Thats what your team needs...

And I would not drop Lawrie, he plays a weak position of 3B... If he becomes anything that was expected of him he will become great trade bait... unfortunately you are holding castro for the same reason...

But those are the 2 trades i would make right away

Choo+ Gordon for the best pitcher you can get- i would expect nothing less than a jordan zimmerman type

and trade Napoli for chris carter straight up...

Then with your extra roster space pick up another pitcher...

Which trade, the one for the pitchers or the one for chris carter???

The one for the pitchers is the more important one... But i would still prefer carter over napoli even if you can not make a trade for pitchers...

i did the Napoli for Carter.

I'm at work I can't really look too much into which pitchers to trade for in my league yet.

I think Gordon will do a lot better this year. Lawrie seems like a good breakout candidate too.

Terrible idea.

Choo is a 3rd/4th round pick in category leagues, Gordon is 6th/7th and has equal value to pitchers like Zimmermann. You would be giving away Choo for free in a trade like that.

It is fine to trade Gordon, but he has far more value than Jennings. It is about more than just HRs + SBs. Gordon will hit for a better average and get more RBI, and he may score more runs also, especially if Jennings does not bat lead-off.
