Well we're already shown that you can't chalk up any game as a win after App St, but 2-1 this week is very do-able. Gotta cut down on our turnovers though. We're way too sloppy and some timely hot shooting has covered that up

Missed the game today. Hokies win 83-63. Adam Smith continued his hot shooting scoring 22 points (including 6 threes) and the team lit it up as well (56% FG, 67% from 3). Devin Wilson had a double double with 10 pts, 11 assists and was just three rebounds shy of a triple double

They're pretty good and very well coached. Was an expected loss, but the domination probably wasn't expected.

Decent. I doubt they make the tourny. They haven't really played anyone good but they do play right many upper classmen. I figure we lose this one but its reasonably close.

Well that was a bit of a bummer. Thought Hill's 3 was gonna go in there at the end. Got me all excited for nothing! But we just couldn't do anything with Joey on the bench. The hot shooting stopped tonight and defensively we were a mess without JVZ. Pierce is just too green. I'd like to see us be a little more aggressive driving to the hoop when the shots aren't falling. At least draw some fouls

Pierce is greener than green....we are better off with just the guards in the game. Adam Smith couldn't hit the broad side of a barn after being on fire the previous game. Has Devin Wilson regressed? He seemed to be developing into a solid contributor at the end of last season, but he looked pretty bad last night every time he attempted a shot....missed about 4 layups.

New coaches, same shitty performance. I thought guard play was supposed to be our strength, but the ball handling is atrocious.

VT's inexperience and bad free throw percentage is killing them in these games.

They've got a long way to go.

I hate to pin a loss on one player but I think we lost that game because of Wilson. Even with the poor first half by the team as a whole, ff he plays a better final minute, we win that game.

We're up 66-62 under a minute and Radford has the ball. Wilson cuts under a screen, and I mean WAAAAY under, and his man drains a wide open 3. He has to know the situation there. Up 4 under a minute, you're trying to not give up 3s or foul and he gives up a wide open 3. He needs to fight over that screen and if he gets beat, let it be up to his teammates' rotations to ward off the driving lane. At worst they get a lay up but you can live with 2 points there. He then immediately follows that up with a turnover at midcourt due to sloppy ball handling. Radford gets a layup and the lead. And finally, I think he messed up the final play. Now it could totally by design and on Buzz but Smith comes open off a curl towards the basket and has a wide open lay up to tie the game. Wilson looks him off, instead throwing it to Bibbs who misses a contested 3 that ends up partially blocked. Again, maybe Buzz drew it up for Bibbs so Wilson was looking for Bibbs the whole time but I nearly died when I saw how open Smith got.
