Tonight's game kind of meh..

But most of the offensive big guns played last night.

The trekkie nerd in me is really pulling for Alexandre Picard to make the top-6.

Staal was weak at first, but woke up as the game went on.

Great finish by #11, Tangradi looks serious this year, and Engelland was really jumping up on the rush... wow.

I was out of town and missed both games. Anyway what I heard on the radio was Morrow and Harrington looked good in their respective games. Also that Despres was sent to WBS, not for poor play but to get more playing time and focus on getting back to the NHL at some point this season.

Morrow was a beast today. How that kid slipped to 22 in the draft is beyond me. Really looks like he could play like a Gonchar, smooth skater, great shot....confidence-city out there.

I like Vitale, but I don't see him staying up in the big club.. I also don't see him getting through waivers. He is a good 4th line crash-n-bang center and has been great on faceoffs. But I really can't get a handle on how things are going to shake down. Tangradi has been good, not great.. same McDonald and Park and so on.

Tough choices in the next 10 days or so.

Malkin.. wow... gonna get the Pre-Smythe Trophy haha

I watched the game today. I am amazed how well Morrow has been playing. That goal was great to see a point man hit the net.

Yeah Vitale looks good even as a faceoff man which is nice. Tangradi used his body today which is what he needs to do if he wants an NHL paycheck. I can see him getting sent down he still seems lost in the offensive zone at times.

Malkin was the best player out there today by far, as he should be.

The few positives I saw from the game today was the fact they had 4 PP goals and they have a lot of depth on the blue line which is great for injuries and come trade deadline time.

I'll agree there. He's got to realize that this is the Penguins, he might be a shoe-in for a roster spot on some teams, but not here. He seems to be trying hard enough, however. Shame he got hurt last year, the extra time up would have done him good and given the coaches more time to see his game and help him fix the small stuff at this level. I'm like you, not sure he will stay up for now.

Agree about Morrow, the test is if he will become an all around defensemen or if he is going to be a offensive specialist. He needs tons of work in the defensive zone, but that will come with experience and time.

Tangradi needs to be better on the boards using his body and leverage to win battles, although his skating looks improved from last year.

I'm on the fence about Joe Vitale, at times he looks overmatched, and at times he looks like a young Max Talbot. I wish they would give the younger guys like him more opportunities rather than recycle the Asham, Park, and Adams of the league.

Exactly, I just told a guy last night I thought Vitale could be a nice replacement for Max...with perhaps better hands, can't tell yet.
