Very true. The supporting cast is a factor. Ex: Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray had a better offensive line than Hurts does. While the two of them may well have been better than Hurts, those better O-Lines still helped them out a lot. (Those two probably had a better "overall" receiving core too...but not as significance a difference.)

Before he did that he had to have an honest conversation with himself. He had to swallow real big, know he might put his defense more at risk and accept using the forward pass on downs other than 3rd and long. I give these coaches that go against what they have in their historic DNA a lot of credit. Can't be easy for them to swallow but they accept the fact they need to do it. Some offensive minded coaches need to do the same in the other direction.
