The M's didn't give much up for Trumbo but they have a Trumbo like player in Montero already and didn't need to give up anything but Jack's bruised ego is pathetic. I don't follow any other teams but it sure doesn't seem like many other teams are as openly political as Seattle. A doghouse is one thing but Jack and Lloyd's political strings are maddening. Had Montero flopped worse than Zunino and threw ice cream or what at Jack or a paying fan I could get it but Montero was more successful at the major league level and got into it with a heckler who was a paid professional by his own club.

Problem is, is you can't fire Jack at the all star break unless you have his replacement (not just interim) GM which they can't find midseason. This is a deadline where the organization needs to make some moves, they can't just stand pat or the organization is still going to be stuck in no man's land and the next guy will have his own 5-10 year plan. They should never have extended him and he should've been let go last offseason.

guti has medical problems that impact his quality of life, not just his ability to run around throwing and swatting at little balls. reducing it to a stomach ache is funny and all, but not very accurate.

All around baseball guys are bringing up their top prospects. Meanwhile in year 7 of a regime our system is so bare we have to call on a 30 year with severe medical issues who is barely hanging on. But yea you are spot on. This is what we have become which is the joke of baseball.
