#Mariners have called up Franklin Gutierrez from Triple-A Tacoma and optioned James Jones to AAA.

I could be wrong but I don't think they ever replaced Ruggiano or Weaks spot so I think there was room on the 40. I could be mistaken though.

That is correct. They are at 38, 39 now with Guti. I found that out earlier and forgot to post it. My bad.

guti has medical problems that impact his quality of life, not just his ability to run around throwing and swatting at little balls. reducing it to a stomach ache is funny and all, but not very accurate.

he's giving it another go to see if it's even possible

The Mariners got a pretty good deal on Trumbo IMO and could've flipped him for more. They should've done that before the Mariner curse struck his stats.

Would be nice if Guti can stay healthy. Not sure what he looks like defensively these days, but he was arugably the best defensive outfielder in the game at one point and had a pretty solid bat as well.
