Joey Bosa First Player Since Dwight Freeney in 2002 to Earn Multiple Defensive Rookie of the Month Awards

Joey Bosa got one vote??????

Though the Chargers finished 5-11 and last in the AFC, Bosa was a whirling dervish in December.

He finished with five sacks that month, and added another against Kansas City last Sunday.

He finished the season with most sacks among NFL rookies (10.5) and more QB pressures (60) of any player through his first 12 games in 11 years.

Thursday, he became the first rookie since Dwight Freeney in 2002 to earn multiple AF Defensive Rookie of the Month awards.

Bosa last earned such an honor in October, when he and Ezekiel Elliott became first former college teammates to split offensive and defensive honors since Florida State's Warrick Dunn and Peter Boulware in September 1997.

Congrats to Joey Bosa on winning AFC Defensive Player of The Month for Decemeber. That's his 2nd this season!!

Bosa hasn't locked down a Hall of Fame nomination like Dwight Freeney, but it's clear already he's well on his way.

He's overlooked because the rest of Denver's line is a disaster, but the fact that Matt Paradis didn't get a single vote at center is a crime. Dude was arguably the best center in the league and he can't even garner a single vote.

I'd also like to know what 3 morons didn't vote for Von Miller.

A lot of corners were better than Peters, but he gets the flashy interceptions that voters notice. Anyone who thinks he's legitimately the second best corner in the NFL wasn't paying very good attention.

By the way, Peters is still a very good corner. He's just not second best in the league good.

Do you have stats to back that up? Because he was lockdown when I saw him playing against Denver on Xmas.

I honestly wonder how much attention you've been paying to him this year or are you still thinking of his rookie year?

Howard gets snubbed. He is the second leading rusher in the NFL and didn't start until week 4.

Oh well...

Take a look at the Pro Football Focus all pro team. He made the second team all pro but had 2 others behind him ranked higher. I didn't even see Marcus Peters listed.

At some point PFF is worthless if they have Eric Berry as the 7th rated Safety.
