We SHOULD win 2 out of the 3 left before the B1G Tourney. It would be awesome to give Sparty some payback for the loss in IC, but I won't hold my breath.. Let's start with a big win today to get back on track.

Agreed. After 3 straight losses, I'll take it, but we should have dropped them like the prom queen's panties today

Next up: @ MSU. Would love to see this team play two strong halves and come away with a win.

Iowa should win on Senior Day against a better Illinois team!!

I think this bracketology on ESPN would be interesting. I could see Iowa beating Syracuse at this point (which both teams are not looking that good right now). Then rematch of Battle 4 Atlantis Championships. Then Iowa could get their shot vs Kansas that they didn't get at the Battle 4 Atlantis. Obviously, it won't turn out like this and Iowa wouldn't be guaranteed to face those teams. It is a fun hypothetical scenerio though.

Well, to start the 2nd half, MSU got physical against Iowa and it looks like Iowa doesn't like that style of play.

We are just in a lot of trouble, yet another team shoots almost 60% against us, we can't stop anyone who is on the same level or even a bit better, if we get to the tournament, and I have to say if at this point...we might win one game but I have to see us as an 8 or 9 seed at this time so we will be matched up with a very even team. It's gotten pretty sad these last couple of months after such promise starting out.

and I really don't care what anyone says, McCabe is a liability, his little shenanigan hip toss there was uncalled for, hurt the team and he needs to sit, I expect the B10 office to levy some sort of punishment there, how embarrassing to see that all over the place

When teams get physical on defense against this team...Iowa will be in trouble every time. MSU's players punched Iowa in the mouth...and then ran their mouths about it. Iowa caved!!!

yep, we just don't have the bodies for physical play, we are just tall and skinny, no beef, need a Jarryd Cole back on the team, some guys who are blocks of muscle basically, Iowa can't play against a physical team and we can't play defense worth a crap right now

Agreed. This team lacks the ability to sort of work through off shooting nights as other teams, such as MSU, regularly can.

White is a perfect example. Too thin and weak to create his own shot. I saw a few possessions yesterday where White, Gessell and Basabe all took like 3 pump fakes each and never attempted an actual shot. I just can't stand that brand of basketball. Instead of these high screens we need guys cutting to the basket more to open up the outside game.

What a disaster this season is becoming. We are officially a bubble team and a few more losses and we won't be dancing this year.

If White, Woody and Uthoff didn't have big feet they'd go down the drain when they took a shower. Need some serious weight training this summer.

I'm surprised more teams aren't getting physical with Iowa. Iowa's offense changes drastically when they are forced to the sidelines versus being able to attack the basket. Teams must be rolling the dice...try to keep it close with Iowa for a half...then come out punching Iowa in the mouth and let the hits take effect.

I sure didn't see a sense of urgency in the second half. Took awhile to get going...thought Iowa would pull away in the second half. But no, Iowa comes out and lays another 2nd half egg.

Looking at a #10 seed. Maybe a #11 play-in game - especially if Iowa loses their first round game in the B1G tournament. Yikes!!!

especially absent were our seniors. Didn't they give a shit that it was their last game in IC? Of all the games during this crappy 5 week stretch, this was the worst effort from Iowa.

From top 10 to out of the poll in what, 3 short weeks? At least they got that Dickerson kid to commit and bring in the Atwood kid hopefully...I am not going to watch them again, I think I am a jinx, I know that isn't it but sheesh, it sucks to see this team underachieve. Marble especially, it's senior night dude, play like it! White has become a shadow of his former self on defense...just pathetic lately on their play on the floor.

I don't get too upset any more. The fact is this team isn't very good and obviously played WAY above their heads for the first 15 games or so. I don't expect anything for the rest of the year, not another win, not an NCAA selection....nothing. Anything above that will be a pleasant surprise.
