When Metallica sucked the most to me, is when James was singing too much. They lost their guttural vibe.
Metallica have/had somewhat fallen prey to the same thing the Chili Peppers have, in that James and Kiedis always sound the fucking same. They're singing style never changes. Now when I listen to the Chili Peppers, all I can think, is that every song sounds the same.
