GTA: why do we play it?

The Grand Theft Auto series has became one of the top video game franchises in history. every time we play it(whether is Vice City, San Andreas, etc), we do anything to beat the game. in order to beat the game, we have to do dumb things, steal cars, rob and hurt innocent people, get away from cops. seriously? a bad guy as the central character. and how could parents let their kids play some of the games?

i had Vice City, i never gotten pass levels one and two, why? cause i never wanted to hurt innocent people or get involved with the mob. the only thing i did in the game was cruise around town(i loved listening to the music stations), did odd jobs(pizza delivery), play a RC race, etc.

Saints Row 2 is still the best game for running around doing crazy shit. Feel like spraying some shit from a septic truck on an old lady? No problem. Chain sawing a hot dog vendor in half? Go for it. Making your character look like a juiced up transvestite and then running naked down the street with a dildo sword? You bet. That game had it all.

It's fun. You had fun with the game without killing or committing crime, that says something about how good the game is. The attention to detail is superb and I really don't see the difference between killing people in a video game and watching a movie like Rambo or Scarface.

After all this time, I finally decided to put the time in and finish GTA5 last night. WOW, what an experience.

Why do we play? Because a game like that puts you in CRAZY situations you would hopefully never be in real life and allows you to get out alive. Yes, you can be an absolutely disgusting SOB if you want to. However, I'm the guy who actually returns the wallets/vehicles after I catch them, yup I'm that guy lol...
