What would you say are the greatest matches in US National Team History?
My choices (in chronological order):

1. 1950 World Cup: USA 1 v England 0
2. 1989 World Cup Qualifier: USA 1 at Trinidad and Tobago 0
3. 1994 World Cup: USA 2 v Colombia 1
4. 2002 World Cup USA 2 v Mexico 0
5. 2009 Confederations Cup Semifinal: USA 2 v Spain 0

I have videos of all of those games except for the 1950 match, which sadly
was not saved on film.

Here is an article about my efforts to find a video of the USA's first victory
over Mexico in a 1980 World Cup qualifier:
Not just another game: When the USMNT played Mexico in 1980, everything changed - SBNation.com

DOS a CERO.

Nothing beats knocking your biggest rival out of the World Cup. Nothing. That hand ball the refs missed against Germany still peaves me. No guarantee we would have won that game but if we had we would have only had to get past South Korea to play in a World Cup final.

Thought it was. That was the first World Cup I remember watching all of on TV (I was 8). The Game between the US and Brazil in the round of 16 sticks out as a good game. Brazil won it 1-0 (although IIRC they had a couple more disallowed). And Russia beating Cameroon 6-1. Ireland's games were also pretty memorable.

I was at that match in South Korea too. I got a pic of the scoreboard when we were up 3-1. It was surreal.

I worked as an English teacher in Korea back in 1997, so when the 2002 cup came around, I decided to go. I knoew how to navigate Korea and am generally a fan of the US soccer team. But NOBODY really expected the US to do anything there. And then it was like...holy shit...we're beating Portugal!!!!!

We went 0 for 3 in our matches in the 98 France cup...and now we were all of a sudden kinda dominant.

Something else to keep in mind. John O'Brien has a hand ball in the box in the USA-Mexico round of 16 match that was not called. So I think it ended up being even.
