Jim Buss has positioned this team very well for future acquisitions and is carrying on his father's legacy with honor.
Crazy how different the narrative on Jimmy would have been if the CP3 trade wasn't rescinded or Steve Nash didn't get hurt. Hopefully this is rock bottom and the ping pong balls go our way May 19th(?).
I still dream of running into David Stern, slapping him in the face, and calmly saying to him "Basketball reasons".

I really don't think Stern wanted to rescind that trade. He unfortunately succumbed to the pressure of a couple owners bitching about it. Stern knew who the cash cow NBA franchise was (and still is).
Jeanie has said that she believes the trade would have stuck if they hadn't announced it immediately after the CBA had finally been ratified. Possibly. Cuban and Gilbert would still have bitched and moaned about it though.
In hindsight, the owners were right in their desire to void the trade. If the trade had gone through Nola probably does not draft Davis and find themselves in the playoffs with one of the brightest stars in the games.Crazy how different the narrative on Jimmy would have been if the CP3 trade wasn't rescinded or Steve Nash didn't get hurt. Well, heading toward the future, the Buss family are building a new practice facility for a cool $80 mil. Here's the link.
