Good riddance. A team is loyal and makes it to the BCS 4 straight years, gets to #10 in the final BCS ranking spot. Produces epic proportions of TV revenue, but they gets snubbed to go to the armpit of America and miss out on the Sugar bowl to face Alabama. Real Classy BCS, real classy.

So disappointed in the corruption that is the BCS that I am glad to see it go. Lets bring on the humans committee and get this thing going.

It is what it is. Time to prepare, beat Texas and Win The Day.

GO DUCKS!

Oklahoma is closer and travels the same if not better. It's a money decision, not a "who's the better team" decision.

Ill give you Oklahoma travels better. But I think Oregon/Alabama produce a much higher TV rating than Oklahoma would.

IMO, the traveling fan base argument really should be a mute point given that IF Oregon didn't sell all their tickets than Alabama fans would surely start buying them. Given that circumstance, where you have one fan base guaranteed to travel the other one really doesn't matter.

What should be held into greater consideration is the TV money these BCS bowls will get. And again, I think Oregon/Alabama matchup is much more intriguing than Oklahoma/Alabama.

But you are right....it doesn't matter who is "better" for some reason these BCS cats are still worried about who will sell more tickets....But same amount of tickets would be sold for that game no matter who Alabama's opponent is.

Bowls don't care about TV ratings. They care about hotels bought and how much you eat at their restaurants.

Makes sense. But wouldn't it be all the same considering Alabama as the opponent? I mean the allotted amount of tickets will be sold and if Oregon didn't sell out that means more tickets to those from Alabama, meaning more Alabama fans traveling and buying those hotel rooms/eating/shopping, etc.

San Antonio is actually a great party town. You might have some fun there. You will sure enjoy a win.

Oklahoma and Clemson made it. LOL. They should've made those two play each other.

Beyond the championship game, the BCS has nothing to do with football and everything to do with $$$$$$$$$$$$$.

with the new system, you would still get stuck in a lesser bowl game even if you're the #5 team in the country

the BCS is the same system that allowed Oregon to play for a national title for the 2010 season despite beating only 1 team that finished in the final CBS top 25.

I actually agree, from a fan standpoint what SHOULD have been last years NC game would have been sexier than OU/Bama. Would have rather seen an OU/Clemson matchup as well.

This should clear it up.

There will be many more who travel to the city but not go to the game. It's not just about actual ticket sales, it's about the others that will go to see the city, shop, eat, experience it ect.
