8 epidsodes, each one roughly an hour
Very interesting take on a noir/procedural thriller.
Two brothers, one in the Yakuza and one a detective.
Hijinks ensue.....
The visuals were very different, but in a good way.
Lots of time moving, but I never felt lost.
They always find a way to explain a mystery in an understanding way, such as a shot of a mystery person that becomes relevant later when you see a flashback from their perspective.
Each episode has a twist or several twists to engage the viewer.
Good review on The Ringer.
Netflix’s ‘Giri/Haji’ Is a Genre-Bending Thriller With Wildly Elaborate Plans
On a side note, there is a Scottish actress that plays a detective in London and is one of the main characters.
I know that I've seen her somewhere, but I couldn't remember where because her accent is so distinctive.
And without googling her name, I still couldn't figure it out. I knew the face, but couldn't place the accent anywhere else.
Finally looked her up.
She was the wife of Josh Brolin in No Country for Old Men, using a southern drawl.
Never would have figured that one out unless I watched NCfOM again.
Sneaky hot with both accents.
