4 years, approximately $160 million.

It's going to be a 4-year deal worth $160M, sources say, with $35M more in upside. They are finalizing.

Saquon Barkley tagged too.

I just don’t like this move. You’re still most likely going to be behind DAL & PHI over the next few seasons with Jones as the QB.

Perhaps.

It's tough to overstate how little talent on offense Daniel Jones has had to work with the past couple of seasons...

... last season: the Giants had an elite LT, a very good RB, and Daniel Jones... and that's it.

Jones showed heart through it all... I (for one) am happy to have him back, and I look forward to better in the future.

He'll finally develop in that same offense for a few years.

He played solid gutsy ball last year with nothing to work with.

As mentioned by posters in other threads, the QB price is reaching unsustainable levels. Where will it peak?

Never, as long as the league keeps bumping up the team cap to accommodate it. Is any of these guys worth what Peyton Manning or Tom Brady in their prime was? Favre? Even Tony Fuckin' Romo?

How much did the earlier guys earn, way back in the 1980s or 90s? Nothing, compared to today’s going rate. There needs to be a ceiling on QB price, or is it going to spiral upwards forever?

Who got the best bargain of the last few days between Carr, Geno and now DJ?

I mean, is Daniel Jones that much better than Geno? Is he even better than Geno at all?

They all seem to be good signings. Teams need to get a good QB, and all the recent ones seem to be good.

For example, look at Pats in the gates of hell with a year 3 QB situation. We’re not sure the offense will work. Total re-tooling of O responsibility. They are tweaking it. Hope it works.

Easily Geno... it's $40M guaranteed with incentives at a peak of $75M... if he busts this year and doesn't achieve the incentives (Seattle gets that money back as a bonus) Seattle could probably cut him next year in all honesty. It's a 2 year deal at most, and if Geno plays like hot garbage failing to reach any incentive Seattle could PROBABLY get away with cutting him.

Giants and Saints are stuck with those two for 3 years.

Course we'll see how the contract details work out... I'm DYING to see what happens to Lamar. I called it from day 1 that the Ravens traded up to get the 5th year option on a QB with limited time given the playstyle... if anyone gives up 2 1st rounders for him let alone some massive contract, that's a HUUUUUUGE win for the Ravens.

And I really have to wonder if the Ravens offered that $200M fully guaranteed contact. I think that was complete hearsay and rumors.

Jones is 7 or 8 years younger than Geno. That fact has to be factored in to any comparison.

Anywho... I agree with an earlier poster that it made sense for both teams to resign their guy, either way.

I think the top of the QB food chain will continue to grow. We may now have room for a "middle class" salary to develop seeing that Jones barely crossed the 40M mark. Geno didn't get out of the 30's.

More a sign the QB market was depressed by the salary cap, imo.

What happens eventually is that you are “paying” 3-4 great players and then you run out of general talent in the team. You only need what is good enough to win. And luck.

You get... the Kansas City Chiefs who have been to 3 of the last 4 SB's? Bottom line is if that top money is going to the right QB, it's always worth it. When you pay top money to merely good or even mediocre, that's when you get in trouble. Best of luck to the Giants, but...
