There's no excuse losing to the Astros 3 out of 4 times so far. I'm ranting but it's just upsetting and so darn frustrating but that's the way it's been all year.

vSong kind of put the last Astros series on the advanced scouts. Saying he pitched to the scouting report but got racked. I think there's a lot of credence to that.

The Giants have hit a new Uber-Shit level over the last few weeks. It's as if they're a team 10 games under just playing out the rest of the schedule (See Pirates). Not horrible, but too flawed to make any kind of move in the standings.

Maybe things will turn around, but at this point I don't see it happening. Too many flaws, too many injuries...

No better than a third place team?

ATL will have to play Milwaukee anyways which kind of sucks but they will have the better record than the NL West Champ

This is an experiment paid for by the SF Giant front office. Tomorrow Sosa pitches on no rest. They want to see what the effect is of a pitcher's rest period versus the vaulted 2011 SF Giant offense or is the word halted? Maybe stunted? Whatever, it's an experiment.

This may have already been replied to, but their experiment proves our offense makes scrub AAAA pitchers look like Greg Maddux, especially in our park on short rest.

:tsk:

This Melancon guy blew a save against the DBacks a couple weeks ago. Even it out, please.

He already did when he gave up the game winning bomb to Panda this past Sunday.

I so want to believe that this is a good team in a bad slump.

But one has to face facts. Losing 3 of 4 to the worst team in baseball. Falling three back of Slytherin. Hitters can't hit for spit.

I'm now at your level of pantshat. This loss was the worst of the year, other than the Poseyocalypse game.

Beltran's got a little of the Barry in him....moves no faster than he has to.

He's seems to be his equal in clubhouse killing too.

This team just doesn't have any spark...

Replacing Buster Posey with Carlos Beltran as your offensive linchpin will extinguish all sparks.

This is kinda like saying "The bird crapping on the deck was the worst day ever on the titanic (except for that little iceberg thing)"

There is no 'the' problem, there are dozens of problems.

Beltran is definitely one of them.

Absolutely....Beltran was brought in to add some power in the middle of the order and lengthen the lineup...instead he went on the DL and when he has played hasn't produced to the level expected.

You can't point to Beltran and say "he is our problem"....but you can say he is one of them...

That is a croc. Beltran is not the problem

Team is 8-16 since acquiring China Doll.

In those games, we have scored 65 runs (2.71 per game) and have been shut out five times.

Agree with msg, there are tons of problems, but China Doll certainly IS a problem.

Before the trade, the Giants were 9-6 post ASB, and were scrapping in every game. That even includes the terrible series with the Reds. Something happened. Getting China Doll- cause and effect? Perhaps not totally, but it added to the plummeting of the team's fortunes.

I still hope he can prove himself a good acquisition, and start driving in runs. Like Huff (who has been terrible), last night he singled with authority to open the 9th. What we really needed him to do was single (or more) and drive in runs when he had the chances earlier in the game. I don't care if the guy hits .300. Huff has hit near .300 since the break, and driven in very few runs. I would sooner take a guy hitting .220 and driving in runs than have a run produced hitting .300 but never getting a hit with runners on base. This whole "but Huff is hitting well" is crap. He is not paid to hit "well", he is paid to drive runs in!

In the last 24 games, the Giants have been shut out 5 times.

In the previous 107 games, the Giants have been shut out 6 times.

Yikes!

Welcome to the club, Carlos!
