The Sharks line-up on D is just a guess on my part at this point.

Interesting (and I guess obvious) to note that Detroit's all-time record vs. the Sharks is 49-18-4-1. :L

Detroit Red Wings All-Time Head-To-Head Record in the NHL - The Original 6

YouTube - Homer Simpson - D'oh!

I would be surprised if that trend doesn't continue tonight.

Also, regardless of their injury status, Huskins and Wallin should sit, as we already know what they can do. Give Braun and Joslin the playing time instead.

Chances are if either Wallin or Huskins are healthy enough to play then they will play. You can thank Yawney for that as he does not like to use young dmen. Everywhere he has coached he has not done well with prospect/rookie dmen.

DP posted the following as projected line combos based on yesterday's practice:

Heatley-Mitchell-Thornton

Clowe-Couture-Ferriero

McGinn-Pavelski-Marleau

McCarthy-Nichol-Mayers

I understand trying to spread the scoring to three lines, and the temptation to go for it since Clowe/Couture/Ferriero looked good last game, but Mitchell on the top line? Guessing these lines won't make it through the first period, if we even see them at all.

Okay, I edited the line-up in the OP. I had forgot about the Marleau/Mitchell switch.

I think McLellan is finally realizing that he can't have three lazy asses on the same line and expect to get consistant results. So he's putting a hard worker like Mitchell with Thornton to hopefully improve his and Heatley's efforts and sticking Marleau between two other players who also give 110%.

Tmac said something about not letting 2 of his injured guys back into the line up on the same night.

So that means Walin will play and demers will sit

Yeah, after the Sharks were gracious guests for MTL’s 101st birthday party, McLellan praised the Clowe-Couture-Ferriero line and seemed irritated when wondering why the others (inferring Marleau, Thornton, and Heatley) didn’t have their legs for the game. The stars on this team are prime examples as to why talent alone doesn’t win a Cup.

Times like these when I don't mind the 4:30PM PST start time for games one bit (I don't usually get home from work until 7:00-7:30PM).

If the Sharks lose by less than 3 goals, I will be ecstatic and totally consider it a moral win tonight!

Just sayin'....

It’s unfortunate that Yawney has that philosophy regarding young D-men, limiting their growth and development. Also, DW didn’t have much of a contingency plan when Blake retired, just hoping that things would work themselves out with the current roster.

Hey, if they hold DET to 4 goals or less that would be an improvement from last Tuesday and a moral victory. :L

What? Are you suggesting that Wallin wasn't a good contingency plan?

Are the Sharks really that much worse than the Wings now? Hard to believe how the mighty have fallen. They are significantly worse now. Sad!
