Marty Lurie once said when the team isn't scoring, it feels like they aren't 'trying'...it's more painful to watch than if they at least score some runs and fall short.

I wonder if anyone thought of playing the 2nd baseman as a rover in shallow center especially with a fly ball pitcher. Balls drop easily out there and a rover could take care of that. You would have to rotate the defense according to the hitters preference but it would be interesting to see.
