future not too strong for them ATM... after this cup, lots of big names will be on the decline...

They'll find players. They're defense was pretty impressive, and they are rather young back there.

Their defense looked old in the 2nd half.... not having Messi/Nymar is not the issue (or they would not have won the last World Cup).

They have costa though, who helped Atletico Madrid beat both Barca and Real Madrid in La Liga.

Chile isn't a pushover either. This team may be eliminated after the 2nd round of group play

This 5-1 L is bad also due to possible goal differential in case they tie with Chile for 2nd place in the group and BTW this L basically just means it will be Spain/Brazil in the round of 16 if they advance

Diego Costa would be better off playing along side Neymar for the next 2-3 world cups

I think the sport would be better off if Spain was to fall out of the group stage. Their style over the last decade, although very successful, has just been so boring to watch.

This is amazing. The fall down cry ball is getting what they deserve. Even after the BS weak penalty call. typical Barcelona/Real Madrid/ Brazil/ Spain weak penalty call. After that Justice prevailed the good guy can sometimes win. Playing the game physically, tough and honorably can sometimes win.

Awesome for Netherlands.
My world cup is complete at this point. Everything else is a bonus. The only thing that could make this better would be like Neymar getting a card for diving.

Casillas, Ramos, and Pique played like shit. They had no trust in each other. Subbing out Xabi Alonso exposed the defense further. Instead of damage control, Spain tried a more attacking style which doesn't suit them. They are going to regret it if things come down to goal differential.
