I wanna wait and hear the cap hit. If its lower, I wont really have a problem with it which I think it will.

Looks like we will have about 5.7-5.8 left in cap space with King and Mitchell left. King will prob be around 1 milish so we could keep Mitchell as well depending on how many years he wants.

Leaves us with around 20 mil next year right now with King or Mitchell on the books so with King prob around 19 mil to lock up Toffoli, Pearson, Muzzin, Clifford, Jones are RFAs and Williams, Martinez, Stoll, Regehr as UFAs.

Did you ever think you would see the day when an excellent player would take less money to stay with the Kings because they were well taken care of, playing for a world-class organization, and want to win more Cups??

yeah, years ago DL talked about building a culture hear and years letting, we are really seeing it now. Players want to be here, they feel like a family. DL is Loyal to his players but the players are loyal to him as well.

Apparently DL was waiting for an exit review with Richards to see what he was going to say before deciding if he wanted to buy him out or not and Richards went it, was honest with himself and what he needs to do in the off season to be in better shape and get back to the level he can be on and it was exactly what DL wanted to hear and is sticking with him.

It's great compared to seeing guys like Hossa, Kovalchuk and Richards snub LA and go elsewhere. I will say I am a bit concerned at the length of this deal, up until now I felt the Kings responsibly handed out long term contracts.

Gaborik meshed well here, and maybe Dumbo saw enough of a sample size to throw 7 years at him but he is 32 now and will be 39 when the contract ends and probably not anywhere near what he is now or even what he will be when he is 35.

Injury history is always a concern with Gaborik, I just hope this doesn't come back to bite him in the ass. In a few years some big dollar deals (Stoll, Williams) will be coming off the books however.

This deal signifies that Gaborik is officially one of the core members of the team.

Looks like 7 years/$34.3 million or $4.9 million per season. The dollars are not bad at all, closer to the $4.5 I thought he was going to get but I wasn't expecting 7 years for a 32 year old.

Then again, he can retire at any time on this deal and the Kings will not be on the hook. Something to consider...

Seeing 7 years/$34.125 million as well, or $4.875 million. Not sure which one is completely accurate yet.

I believe this is more precise. People are rounding up for ease of typing. Good cap hit, a little too long, but he can be bought out, retire or LTIR. Also in 4 years this will be a low cap hit

This makes Richard staying much better in my eyes. As long as Kopitar stays I will like seeing these guys together for awhile.

No shit, I have my complaints as do we all. In the end they are all petty and Deano has been amazing
