I don't think they were ever taking a QB.

They have their stop-gap QB and their QB of the Future already. If it was a new GM and not Elway, maybe they make a move at QB but odds are they only liked 1 QB and maybe 2 QBs enough to blow up their current situation.

Miller is awesome. I'm kinda with you on Chubb. He could be great or he could just be a starter. Its hard to seperate jack-of-all-trades with good-at-everything. The type of pass rushers that give the Chiefs trouble tend to be bendy, low to the ground ones and Chubb's one knock is his bend so I'm probably not as fearful of this pick as them actually fixing their QB spot long term.

Who is the QB of the future?

Not being a wise ass, im drawing a blank

Short, white, douchebag.

Seems like relevant things to think about when discussing his qualifications to be a QB.

All good points, but I was thinking more about scrambling/improvising/playmaker as opposed to drop-back/pocket passer.

Pro football tends to like that second kind of QB, usually. I mean, how many non-Rock Strongo threads have we've seen on why Cam Newton isn't a legit pro quarterback?

Paxton Lynch. He is the same age as the Tight End the Ravens drafted in the first round so its fair to still call him a QBotF.

Denver really needs somebody besides Elway to evaluate their QB's. I don't know if he's always comparing them to himself and therefore nobody measures up, or if he just doesn't have the eye to do it properly.

Agreed, I think winning that one SB has protected him from a shit ton of criticism, and maybe rightfully so

Like the football version of Michael Jordan?

He did try to trade for Alex Smith. You might be on to something

I have said this very sentence myself, several times. I think Dirt's right, winning a SB looks good on his resume, and people don't seem to care who the QB was in that game

I am interested who the Browns get with their next 2 picks. RB and WR?

Maybe Chubb/Guice and Kirk/Sutton?

Elway did make a lot of great stop-gap moves that allowed that Super Bowl to happen but that Broncos Super Bowl win goes to Von Miller but thats also his pick.

The reality is that the Broncos tried to rebuild without tanking. Thats hard AF. He is still probably a top 10 GM.

Dorsey?

I think Harold Landry is in play. Then maybe some crazy oline shenanigans. Or Hurst

Connor Williams is the best available but he is projected to be a guard. Crosby is the next best OT but he is 20 spots down OTB

Connor Williams and then either Landry or Hurst would be my guess.

I doubt he is considering the RBs or WRs at all at this stage.

Actually, I'm looking at the SPARQ rankings and the players that stand out are Lorenzo Carter and Courtland Sutton. Justin Reid and Josh Jackson maybe also in play for the Browns.

I just think Harold Landry has to come off the board here shortly. His SPARQ is good enough to get him drafted by the Browns

Well he certainly has something that Jordan doesn't, and that's winning a Title as an executive. I don't think Jordan will ever come close to that.

If the Browns get arguably the top QB, CB (fite meh) and the arguably the 2nd best Edge and RB, they win.

I had my heart set on Chubb at 4. Ward is a good player but a bit of a reach, still the best CB on the board so im fine with it.

I fully support the Mayfield pick. Thought it was a wash between him and Darnold and i honestly have more confidence in Mayfield picking up the pro-game than i do darnold.
