He was our heart and soul. He was owed 2.3 mill....but I bet he would have taken a cut. He wasn't under rated either. He's been our best player by far over the years.

Underrated might not be the right word, but I'm not sure how well known by casual NFL fans he is.

I remember first noticing him in a preseason game against Denver several years ago. Think it was his rookie year. Broncos couldn't stop him. Didn't know if our run defense was terrible or Jackson was just a good back. Turns out to have been both.

Truly pathetic. For a team that has such obvious injury concerns with all their RBs and will allegedly run more times than in the history of the NFL...releasing Fred makes no sense. This guy was a true Buffalo Bill. Played his whole career here, never complained, and performed at a high level.

Just read report that LeSean McCoy "may not be ready for Week 1" (read: WILL NOT). Bryce Brown held out of practice for injury concerns. Boobie Dixon has been MIA.

Yeah, can't think of a smarter move than cutting Fred Jackson. No reason to have a reliable, healthy vet that knows the playbook around.

I agree in the beginning I was all for Whaley but I don't see the reasoning behind this one at all releasing him was just a bad play all around.
