This is prolly a very good thing.

Loved Frank in his hey-day, but the poor bastage is just too old and the fire is gone when he starts making the recent comments he's been making.

Question is ... who will they hire? There's some coaches floating around out there and there's surely more to follow by season's end.

I'm just glad 'ol Frank is 'doin the right thing' here and he's surely realized it's time to go.

I've lived in Virginia pretty much the last 30 years (until recently) and the Hokies have always been my VA team. I want them to regain the prominence & relevance that they once had.

Hate to see the man go, but it is time. The wins have become sparse and recruiting has been lackluster for a number of years now. The fan base is restless and ready for new blood. He has been a class act.

I agree with ck. This is a very, very good job, and depending on how you view it or what you are looking for (as a candidate), this might be THE best job on the board. Even with my homer glasses on, I truly believe that.

I believe this will make Kirk Ferentz and Bob Stoops having the longest tenure as active head coaches, well, once he retires.

Even though I still want to say Bill Snyder has a longer even though he had a year or two not coaching in there.
