I think these networks vastly overestimate how much their viewers care about who’s droning on and on during football games.

35+ million a year and I’ll probably have the game muted anyway. Easier ways to waste money…
I'd pay even more to get rid of Joe Buck Dumb F____!

Agreed... like I'm going to not watch an NFL game because I don't care for the color guy? I had no idea until yesterday that those guys made that kind of money. They must have research that says they're worth it, but I don't get it at all.

Wild guess, there’s a future professional athlete that mouth kisses Tom goodnight.
For that kind of coin, I'd mouth kiss my dad as well.

You would think the kids will have good genes?

here's a good article:
Guardian said:
John Skipper, the former head of ESPN, said that internal data at the company showed who was calling the game made little difference to audience figures. “I never saw a scintilla of evidence that the people in the booth changed the ratings even by a smidgen,” Skipper said. “The race to hire people is mostly about internal pride.”

Latter comment is all I can come up with, too. Maybe there are a bunch of people who said if certain people were announcing they'd watch when normally they would not? Casual or less than casual football fans.

Dad got drafted in multiple sports. Mom is a fitness freak who makes even more from her drive and focus.

I’d be surprised if they don’t produce athletes.

Dad was a 6th round pick with a Dad bod at 22. Nothing to write home about physically. Talent isn't hereditary.

Drafted out of HS five years earlier by the Expos, as a catcher.

Talent most definitely is hereditary.
