He's gonna get more than Aikman, probably 30 million per season.

I think these networks vastly overestimate how much their viewers care about who’s droning on and on during football games.

35+ million a year and I’ll probably have the game muted anyway. Easier ways to waste money…

Paying someone $10's of millions to announce a football game is dumb. No way they make that up with additional revenue that the announcer brings in in terms of more people watching because they are the ones announcing.

But it is the NFL and the TV contract. There is so much money flowing for both the NFL and the networks from the games that they cant figure out ways to spend it all. But this is one of those things that happen and then at the first sign of a downward trend in revenue, they immediately cut realizing that it isn't even close to worth it.

I dunno, I'd pay extra to never hear Beth Mowins call a game.

I don't even know if I have ever heard her announce a game that I can remember at least.

Announcers are just white noise. I hardly ever listen. Hell think about the past year. The greatest announcer was John Madden.

.....dude was a blathering idiot who didnt make sense 90% of the time. He was the initial version of the chef who yells bam when he puts something in the dish. Few actually know what the hell he is talking about but like the enthusiasm he does it with and likes the look of what is on screen when he yells it.

It is important. The MNF crew was so bad I would actively avoid those games unless my team was playing.
