The last time we drafted Linemen top % in draft we faired pretty well. Samuals (who we gave away a ton to get) and Williams. Seems we do pretty well when we draft at this position this high.

Scherff was the safest pick in the draft and if he plays OG, he has the talent and skillset to be a dominant o-lineman for years to come. Once again, never a question of his talent, but an issue of if he was an OG, whether picking him at #5 was a value pick.

But he may not play OT. That's yet to be determined. I hope he can play that position since that's our greatest position of need. If he was drafted as an OG, using our fifth overall pick is awfully high for that position.
