No, just would like to have a solid backup in case he would get injured again and also since it’s doubtful that Mayfield comes back.

Plenty of veteran free agents available still (Allen, Brissett, Bridgewater, Mariota, Dalton, Minishew, etc).

None of those really would interest me. I think maybe draft him and have him learn under Stafford for a year so that way we don’t need to worry about drafting one next year and can focus on other needs.

I don't see him as a projected starter though, which would be my concern. Wouldn't want to use one of their top picks this year on a guy that you hope never has to play.

But neither are any of the guys you mentioned. They’re all backups and all probably just want one year deals and then next year, you’ll just have to possibly deal with two quarterback slots to worry about instead of just one. Better to not have that extra worry, plus it’d be cheaper as well.

If Stafford misses a game early, a rookie backup won't be ready though. Much rather have the vet in place personally.

Are any of those vets really guys you want to rely on in case Stafford is out again long term? I’d rather take my chance in a rookie, especially if this is going to be another dud of a season anyways.

Like this mock alot although. I believe the Rams are going to draft Tippmann at Center because he is another Wisconsin lineman. Love the McKee pick and the Zavala pick. The Rams may get Mafi as a UDFA. I'd like to see Carter picked with our Second rounder.

Ringo went one spot ahead of me, making the decision a little easier. Ended up going with Sanders (who can rush as an Edge as well as play off the ball). Still some Edge players dropping, will look to get one in the 2nd (and either an IOL or CB, depending on who's left, barring any surprises).

Rams have so many picks that I'm trying to get the best player more than filling the biggest need.

Just know this draft isn’t deep at Edge, so in reality, the Rams can’t wait if they want to get an immediate impact player at that position.
